Bed Bugs
If you have bats roosting in your attic, contact a pest control company or wildlife damage control company in your area for assistance. Our primary concern is with the bed bug species, Cimex lectularius; however, there are other related species more frequently associated with birds and bats. Overapplying pesticides will not improve control but can endanger your health. Bed bug eggs are white. Their preferred habitat include infesting beds or other common areas where people may sleep.
A pest control service may be able to help you or you can contact your local county Cooperative Extension Center. Do not treat mattresses or bed linens unless the insecticide label specifically says you can treat them. Ultimately bed bug infestations are not a serious health threat. Bed bugs don’t just appear spontaneously in a home or apartment. Currently, treatment is difficult, but as time passes, pest control professionals should gain expertise in treatments and there will be new effective products developed.

Human bed bugs are found worldwide and are dispersed through human travel.
